Things I have Learned

What I have learned through designing with typography:

1. Works with your hands first (sketch, cut, glue, flip) and then computer
2. Have one main idea with 1-2 others smaller ones for depth
3. Simplicity is key even in controlled chaos
4. Purpose- have a reason for everything
5. Break the rules!
6. For creative ideas to flow, sit at least for 3 hours
7. Music is essential
8. Have a coloring book or connect-the-dots book around when you get stuck
9. Pinterest is a site that helps with homework!
10. PASSION!

Movie Fonts

While most fonts can be used in a variety of way, there are some that are just solely for one theme.
I am referring to the fonts that have become part of a brand.
Examples of these are the Twilight, Disney, and Harry Potter fonts.
These fonts can only be used when referring to a sparkly vampire even, and Disney party invitation, and of a magical world.

As the title to Twilight it looks perfect but for a toilet paper ad, it would look rather strange.

One does not have to be told that this is the Disney font. Since we were little, we have associated this font with the world that is Disney. t is interesting how there are fonts that have been established to go with a certain brand or theme, that they will never be able to be used for anything else.
Fonts have a way of impacting our society.
